Preparation


For Economic Bee Hoon
  • [238 Calories] Bee Hoon (dry, uncooked) (400g)
  • [370 Calories] 3 tablespoons of New Moon Vegetable Oil
  • [16 Calories] 4 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
  • [48 Calories] 6 small shallots, finely chopped
  • [24 Calories] 3 tablespoons of light soy sauce
  • [0 Calories] 2 cups of water (480ml)
  • [0 Calories] Finely ground white pepper to taste

 

For Vegetable Curry
  • [239 Calories] 1 sachet of New Moon Vegetable Curry Paste (120g)
  • [0 Calories] Water (600ml)
  • [63 Calories] Round Cabbage, cut into chuncks (250g)
  • [38 Calories] Brinjal (Eggplant), cut into chunks (150g)
  • [71 Calories] Long Beans (Yardlong Bean), cut about 1 inch length (150g)
  • [177 Calories] Tau Pok, cut half (50g)
  • [33 Calories] Ladyfinger (Okra), sliced thickly (100g)
  • [62 Calories] Carrots, cut into chunks (150g)
  • [99 Calories] Coconut Milk (or Evaporated Milk) (50ml)

Cooking Instructions


For Economic Bee Hoon
  1. Soak bee hoon in tap water for approximately 10 minutes until soften and drain.
  2. Add oil into heated pan, sauté garlic and shallots until golden brown.
  3. Add water and light soy sauce, bring to boil.
  4. Add bee hoon, mix well and cover to cook for 1 - 2 minutes or until bee hoon is cooked.
  5. Add some hot water if the bee hoon appears too dry.
  6. Add soy sauce and pepper to taste and mix well.
  7. Turn off heat and set aside.

 

For Vegetable Curry
  1. Put New Moon Vegetable Curry Paste and water into a pot and mix well.
  2. Add vegetables and bring to a boil.
  3. Lower heat and simmer approximately 20 minutes or until vegetables soften.
  4. Add coconut milk and mix well.
  5. Ready to serve.
